Airline Manager: 5th Freedom Rights

Hi Class,

This announcement concerns ALOMGT Assignment 1 (Airline Manager)

It has come to Wee Li's attention that while playing Airline Manager (according to the assignment requirements), many are misusing the 5th freedom of flight when doing route planning.

According to the 5th freedom, you are only allowed to have one fifth freedom flight per country.

This means that for example, if your Base is in Singapore, and you do a Singapore-Beijing Flight, you are only allowed to do an onward sector from to a third country. If you are doing more than one flight, that would be classified under the 7th freedom, and not the 5th freedom.

Mr Lee Wee Li has agreed to extend the deadline for Airline Manager to Sunday, 13th December 2009, for everyone to fix our routes. Thus, the final day of operations for everyone's Airline shall be on that day.

Please review your route network and make the necessary changes to your routes.
